There are a few more projects to check off the list at Illiniwek this season. We'll be working Thursday (4/26) from 5-8pm. Meeting in the parking lot below the sledding hill (directions here). Show up when you can. If we aren't there, check the upper south loop parking area by the salt dome.
To Do:
- Build retaining wall on the South Climb trail. Most of the stones are already at the site. Just need to piece them together and rebuild the dirt platform.
- Armoring a few areas on the Upper South loop. Need to transport quite a bit of stone to 3 different areas. Garden tractor with yard trailer, vehicle flatbed trailer, or truck would make easy work of this. Otherwise it's wheelbarrows...
- Trail smoothing in the upper south grass field. Moving dirt to fill holes and knocking down bumps. Hand tampers will be useful here.
Tools Needed:
I'll have enough rogue hoes & shovels for 6 people and one hand tamper. If you have your own, bring them. If you can get your hands on a heavy duty wheelbarrow, bring it along just in case.
Post up if you're coming.
