    Default Illiniwek - Work Days - Sat. 11/15 @ 9am & Sun. 11/16 @ 11am

    Saturday 11/15
Posts are being delivered for the new structures on Saturday morning at 9 am to the upper south lot. We need a few (4-5) people to help unload them. The 6x6x16 posts are 190 lbs a piece. Plan on spending around an hour to get this done. Bring your bikes and we can ride afterwards.

    Sunday 11/16
Sunday the plan is to transport posts to the work site, haul in gravel, dig holes, and set posts. Scott Schnaufer from B&B Cyclery is donating a rental gas powered post hole auger to do most of the digging. Some of the holes will need to be enlarged with the manual digger. We are starting at 11:00 am on Sunday and meeting in the upper south lot by the salt dome.

    Tools:
A wheelbarrow, clam shell style manual post hole digger (PHD), and a few shovels will be needed. I will bring shovels and have one PHD. Bring more PHDs to make the work go faster. We will also need one or two wheelbarrows for moving the gravel.

The ground may start freezing next week and the goal is to have all the posts installed before that happens.

Other tools that would be useful for Sunday:
    - An impact driver (or two) for large lag screws to join posts.
    - A portable generator capable of running a circular saw (~1.5K watts).

T30 Torx. I'll bring some bits but if you have extras bring them just in case.

Can I get a shout from those who are planning on coming and what tools they are bringing?

Scott has the gas powered auger covered (need me to bring fuel?) and Bill will have an impact.

We still need one wheelbarrow and another manual post hole digger (or two).

I'll also have a small material cart for hauling posts, the chainsaw, and measuring tools (a laser level!).

Bring a warm beverage and dress in layers. Temps should be around 30F.

I can bring a wheelbarrow (if I can fit it in my car) and a shovel or two.

No worries I'll bring the wheelbarrow and another impact driver, think I have another post hole digger too.

Working together for a common cause:-).

I can bring another impact with a t30 bit if the batteries are charged and some regular shovels/ spades

Ballz, 2 impact drivers (C.I. & Bill) should be enough. Most of the work is going to involve digging holes, cutting posts, and getting things leveled. If you have a post hole shovel definitly bring it.

1 wheelbarrow (C.I.) will also be enough for the amount of gravel we need to haul.
