There was some potential interest in attending the PAMBA trail school this weekend at our last meeting, but I didn't get any firm commitments. The class runs from 8am to 3pm. If you're interested, let me know ASAP and we'll get you hooked up.

We have a great opportunity coming up on Saturday February 20th to learn about trail building. Mike Staub and Terry Carter, both PAMBA leaders and IMBA certified trail builders, will be leading a trail building & care training session at Wildlife Prairie Park to teach others how to lead efforts in properly building trails. This will be an 8 hour session with 4 hours of classroom type training a lunch break then 4 hours of in the woods training. This is a rare chance to get an understanding of how to help create and maintain the trails that we all enjoy.

The class will cover topics from maintainable/non-eroding trails on hillside slopes where the path should be cut, how it's made, what tools are used, and much more. Wildlife Prairie Park not only provides a whole new playground scene, but has some huge benefits for mountain bikers and other users of the trails and woods. The class will follow the format of the Subaru IMBA Trail Care Crew trail school.
