Just an FYI; this was in the QCTimes today. (I won't be able to help at this as I will be at another event)
Garlic mustard is an invasive, noxious plant that threatens our native woodlands, natural areas and wildlife habitat.
Until someone figures out a way to get rid of it (if that is even possible), pulling it out by hand is a way to at least reduce the number of seeds that might sprout in the future.
A community "pull" will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 7, at eight Quad-City natural areas. The number on the list increases each year, so what does that tell you?
Here are the sites and the telephone numbers to call to register.
- Sunderbruch Park, Davenport; call Greg at (563) 326-7812.
All volunteers are invited to a hot dog roast at Black Hawk after the event
