We had another solid turnout, great weather, and fast trails for Round 5 of the 2014 FORC Time Trial Series at Illiniwek Forest Preserve. The course consisted of a clockwise south loop (up the steep climb!) followed by a counterclockwise north loop, topped off by a second clockwise south loop (again, up the steep climb for good measure). The battle at the front of the pack continues to rage on with Chris Scott taking his 4th (!!!) win in a row, followed by Kings, and Struck came in 3rd. Nick Eckerman has been improving with every race this summer and put in a very solid effort for 4th place, and Russ rounded out the top 5. Kings and Struck were tied for the points lead heading into Round 5, and Kings was able to pull ahead by 1 point with his 2nd place finish. Chris has been inching closer and closer to the front of the points pack with every win, and with 1 round to go he is 2 points out of 2nd, and only 3 points out of the lead...going to make for an exciting finish to the regular season at Round 6, make sure you come see how it turns out!

One more announcement: I am going to be out of the country for work from ~Aug 25-30, so we are going to reschedule Round 6 from August 26 to Tuesday, September 9. That should give everyone enough time to get back from Copper and get settled in, and it doesn't conflict with any of the Taming warm-up events. See all you honkies there!
Final round of the series coming up this week...Hope you guys have been training!uploadfromtaptalk1410142452178.jpg
How will the 18 way tie for 26th be handled? When does the winter fat bike TT series schedule get released?
"Coach says I've got the heart of a champion and legs of a spectator"
18-Way Tie-Breaker:
And did I just see that correctly? BD volunteered to organize a Winter Fatbike TT Series!? Sweet!
Seriously though...I think that sounds like a great idea and am definitely down for attending/helping out with them, but will let someone else take the lead.
Are we going to have the TT tonight still?
What is the plan for tonights TT?
We are going to have it if we can find some open trails. My guess is we are going to need to move it to either SBP or IFP though. Keep an eye on this thread and I will post info as I get it.
Tonight's TT is officially rained out. Tentatively rescheduled for Tuesday, Sept 16, 6:00pm @ Sunderbruch. Sunset time is 7:10pm, so everyone will be able to get through the course before sunset, but it might be getting a bit dark towards the end...wouldn't hurt to bring your light set up if you have one.
Switching from SCP to SBP due to issues with earlier sunsets and the logistics of getting the race completed and course torn down before dark. Now that we are going to be at SBP, we can enjoy a post-TT night ride tear down session complete with libations on the moon tower.
Did the final TT get moved from the 28 to the 27 or am I crazy? I thought it was scheduled for Sunday...
Don't forget to come out to the regular season finale TOMORROW NIGHT at Sunderbruch Park! First rider out at 6:00pm.
Bring your lights for some post-TT night ride fun (and arrow picking up). No beer allowed. (lies)
Slacking here, been busting arse in Saudi all week so I haven't gotten around to posting the results from the final TT at Sunderbruch, so in case you missed it...CONGRATS KINGS, taking the win at the event and clinching the points championship!
I will get the full results posted when I get home, so look for them again around Thursday night.
Here we go, finally getting around to posting the results from the 6th and final round of the TT series. This event was held at Sunderbruch Park, and the course consisted of everything except LT & Blue Mound. We had a tight points battle going into the event between Kings (43pts), Struck (42pts), and Chris Scott (40pts). Kings was not going to be denied, and threw down a blistering time of 21:08 which was good enough to take the win by over a minute and clinch the championship. Chris Scott came in 2nd place, good enough to bump him into 2nd place for the series; and Nick Eckerman rounded out the podium taking 3rd place in his most impressive ride of the year...watch out for this guy next year! There was a whole cluster of racers coming in with times just over 23:00 as just 5 seconds separated 4th from 7th...good stuff.
Thanks to everyone for coming out and making the series a success! Final points standings are posted at the beginning of the thread.
