Fix the I&M Canal Trail

Sign the petition and help get the I&M canal trail fixed in between Utica and Ottawa, IL.

Permanently fix the major safety risk of the washout on the I&M Canal Trail between Utica and Buffalo Rock. This portion of the trail has been washed out since early 2013 without even an attempt to fix it. Makeshift and very unsafe crossings have been made by users but continuously get destroyed.

Have you tried contacting the IL DNR? I think they are the ones who manage that property. Moline was recently awarded an ITEP grant to replace the Sylvan Island Bridge. I expect that program could also be used to fund repairs to the canal path.
