Press fit bottom brackets suck.
Other than that, I will wait patiently until more information is available.
the pressfit BB is throwing me off as well....
BUT, I haven't had any experience with a pressfit. I'm coming from the perspective of "my external BBs have worked great, why do I need a 'new' standard now?"
Kind of along these lines: "my 9mm QRs worked great, why do I need a 'new' 15mm thru-axle?" so maybe there's something to it.
Of course, you're gonna hear more about the pressfit BBs causing problems than the ones that work perfectly as designed.
All that said, I'm really liking what Surly has going on with this bike......

Press Fitt BBs have been around since the Klein days, or before. There's merit for them in race bikes and road bikes where they allow for a bigger, stiffer bottom bracket and they're lighter. They require a few more tools to install and remove. They're also a pretty good pain in the butt to install/remove.
But I can easily overlook the bottom bracket.
