Copper registration is open! If you are planning on going I would get signed up. This is the first year they are capping it. First 500. Last year they had 425ish. The year before was around 300. I believe it will fill up with in a couple weeks. They have been getting a lot of press and the word is out.

    I can't wait.

I'm in for the long course!

Believe in yourself? Well sure, of course. But be aware that "believing in myself" has been the root cause of most of my injuries.

Russ and i are thinking of going to Copper Harbor for the festival and wondering where you're staying so we can stay as far away as possible. ;)

I'm confused though. This is a big event, right? The festival website says "space is available on a first come, first served basis for up to 80 people per night". That doesn't sound like it holds many people. Typo maybe?

In think the 80 people is more of a guide line than a rule. This will be the 3rd year that i have been there and i have never seen them kick any one out or turn them away. I can say there had to of been more than 80 there each night. I think as long as you have a vehicle sticker and there is no problems the state park is cool. Hell the first year we had to tamp down the weeds and make our own spot. It looks like we will have around 15 people going, we can make room for ya.

We are 1 month away for this trip. Here is who I have so far.*

    Long trip : August 31-September 9*
    AG
    Dave&Carol
    Steve and Sass
    Stauby and GF
    Paul H
    Richard and Jenny
    Krud and Meg. Sort of.*

    Short trip: August 31-September 3
    Rick*
    Ray
    *
If you are in, and I don't have you listed post it up. If you're out and listed let me know. I'm probably going to start a email chain to figure it who's riding with who and who's is bringing what (so we don't have 10 stoves and no propane). I would *say short trippers wont need as much stuff, cause long trippers will have it.*

Basic itinerary: Copper *31-3. Marquette 3-5. Gnome Fest 5-9

    Any question? Give a holler.*

Me, Forcmeister and Augie are gonna leave to go up on Friday morning, and we'll be back by Monday night. Since Monday's a holiday, only costs 1 day off. I have 1 seat open if anyone is interested!

lemme know- 309-737-4762 or PM me.

To all that plan on making this journey, let's get together at Front Street Freight House Saturday night at 7. We can hammer out any last minute details and drink some beer.

You have to ride to each start line, only getting timed on the down hill sections. You think about it thats got to be 1800' of climbing. Yikes. Interesting concept fo sho.
