My bnew doc- gotta love it.
So I'm also cutting back on the beer and crappy food to shed a few pounds for spring, and I got a new doc. I go in for the 2 year whole shabang checkup. After exhaustive Lab tests, he said I was doing'fairly well' for my age. (I'm about to turn 46).
A little concerned about that comment, I asked him, 'Do you think I'll live to be 80?' He asked, 'Do you smoke tobacco, or drink beer, wine or hard liquor?'
Since I know where this is going, I decided to lie and tell him I don't do any of the bad stuff, so I said "no".
Then he asked, 'Do you eat rib-eye steaks and barbecued ribs?'
'I said, 'Not much... my former doctor said that all red meat is very unhealthy!'
'Do you spend a lot of time in the sun, like playing golf, boating, sailing, hiking, or bicycling?'
'No, I don't,' I said.
He asked, 'Do you gamble, drive fast cars, or have a lots of sex?'
Again, "Nope."
He looks at me and says,.. 'Then why do you even give a crap?'
I'm going to Rays tomorrow. And when I drop another 10 pounds the beer's back on the diet.

Believe in yourself? Well sure, of course. But be aware that "believing in myself" has been the root cause of most of my injuries.
