SCP Storm Clean Sat 8/15 9:30am

Like all trails in the QC Scott County Park took a huge hit from Monday’s storm. While cleanup has started we plan to be out there this Saturday morning 9:30 am. Meet in the Pool parking lot and we’ll divide and conquer from there.
Bring tools to clean and remove branches and brush such as hand saw, loppers, rakes, gloves, protect wear....
For insurance purposes you must be a member to do trail work. There is a link on the QCFORC.ORG page to sign up.

Thank you to all that showed to help with the cleanup efforts. I think we had around a dozen show up! We still have some to remove early this week. We will try and open the trails ASAP. Most of what’s left you can go around or over. We do have some reroutes that will need to be done to fully open. Unfortunately we will lose most if not all of boardwalk on tarmac. A short section of Jumbo will also have to be rerouted.

Again thank you to all that helped. This was a mess of epic proportions.

Any idea when SCP will be open? I want to say all the trails were cleared except for a large tree in Canon Loop, which can be climbed over.
