    Default Conditions as of 7/13/20

We have several trees down that is keeping us from opening the trails. We should have them cleared in the day or two. Hold tight everyone.

I don’t intend to be disrespectful here but why are trails closed because of trees down? You can either learn to ride over them or pickup your bike and walk around. Shouldn’t this just be a warning to be careful? I understand closing trails for 24 hours after a rain to stop erosion but a tree down doesn’t cause further damage to a trail.

There was no riding around all the trees that were down. And some were hanging over the trail. We removed around 20 total. They were all removed by Tuesday night then we got several inches of rain. I intend on doing a trail condition ride this morning and report my findings back to the rangers. I see the trail is open...thank-you!

Feel free to reach out if you need help cleaning up the trail. It's a short enough riding season I can help get a trail open within a couple days of a storm.

Rider safety is often a primary driver for closed trails due to storm damage. Very often the trail crew only has reports of down trees with little detail, no understanding if there is a safe bypass.

Area 51 is now open. Osage orange tree blocking trail on Cannon loop just before the bridge. There is a cut path through it.
