Sunday, January 4th is our next full moon. Since that is a school night, we are rolling back the hike one night to Saturday evening with the hike to begin at 6 PM (on January 3rd) at Black Hawk State Park in Rock Island. The moon will still be quite bright on Saturday night... unless the sky is overcast.

Meet in the main parking lot off 15th Street on the North side of Black Hawk Road (not the back lot by Singing Bird Lodge unless the main lot is closed).

Bring a light.
Bring a walking stick if you want.

Because there will be different levels of fitness represented, the group will naturally separate based on walking speed. This is expected. We will all start at the same time starting with the North trails, but those who go faster will finish sooner or will get more mileage in. Don't fret. Find a speed you are comfortable with and meet new people! My plan is to hike the trails on both sides of Black Hawk Road.

Big thanks to Ron Willems for hooking us up with firewood! Bring a lawn chair and plan on enjoying a fire after the hike. Bring skewers and marshmallows/hotdogs if you want!
