There are 5 shops in the Quad City area. All of them have their niche, and all of them are very good in their own right. Personally I prefer Healthy Habit for various reasons, but I do support all the others once in a while as well...

SVT is dead on, each shop has it's own "feel". As Mountain Bike Patrol Director, we usually recommend starting at the bike shop closest to your house and if you feel compfortable there- develope a raport with them.
I live @ work closest to B&H, so that's usually my 1st stop when I'm looking for something, but I have made purchases at all 5 bike shops and they've all treated me great!!
Believe in yourself? Well sure, of course. But be aware that "believing in myself" has been the root cause of most of my injuries.
