2014 FORC Races

Hey everyone, your newly (sort of) appointed Race Director reporting here...

FORC will once again be hosting two cross country mountain bike races in 2014. Unfortunately we are not able to carry on the tradition of the Sylvan Island Stampede due to the bridge closure. As sad as that is, it has opened up an opportunity for us to have a race at one of our other fine trail systems: Illiniwek!

RACE DATES:
Illiniwek Abermination - Sunday, June 8
FORC Side Thrill Ride @ Sunderbruch - Sunday, July 13

I know these races are still a long ways out, but I wanted to make sure everyone knows the dates and gets them on their calenders...plus, it is never to early to start training! I'll post up a call for volunteers once we get a little closer to the races to get the finer details worked out.


Also, if you are free this Sunday, put on your snowy britches and come on out to Sunderbruch for the first HFDB TT of the season and hang out with your fellow FORC'rs!

So Illiniwek is NOT April 27 like the IHRS page on PAMBA says? If true, that makes me happy.

That is correct. We had originally scheduled it for April 27, but there are multiple races in the area scheduled for that day so we decided to move it back to June 8. I have notified the series promoters and they should be issuing revised schedules in the near future.

Awesome. Now I just have to decide on whether to go to my friend's college graduation that day or do IVCA's Dirty Mudd'r.

I like this scheduling. Was afraid I wouldn't be able to get enough training in to do illinwek race. Instead I got time to learn the berms. Lovin it!

Plenty of "training" time between now and the end of April.

Moving the date also lowers the risk of postponing the event because of wet weather, which is good.
