Default Headed to Alabama...where should I stop and ride?

Hey FORCers, I'm driving home tomorrow (Alabama) to visit the family. I'm taking my bike so I was wondering if anyone knew of a "must ride" location along my route I could hit to break it up a bit. Heres my route below, if you know of a place not far off my route let me know!!!

Not sure about anything along your planned route, but if you go down through STL you could hit Berryman.

I've never been there, but it is an IMBA Epic so I would think it's pretty cool.

Passing through Huntsville? Check out Monte Sano.

I'd suggest riding right out of that God forsaken state. :-p

I couldn't see the picture well on my phone but it looks like your destination is Huntsville! Definitely check out Monte Sano. It's a legit mountain at the tail end of the Appalachians. I checked it out a couple times when I was down there for work in Decatur. Gnar abounds!

I recently read (though I cannot remember where) that the Huntsville area is an outstanding area to mountain bike, made even better by the fact that it is not a destination (for mountain biking). Let us know what you find!

Dooooode there are many good spots near your destination, trails are constantly being rehabbed and developed... Check out SORBA's web site for listings and perhaps local hookups. Raccoon Mountain, Coldwater, do it.
