Des Moines suggestions

I'd like to ride in the Des Moines area or someplace on the way back toward the QC. Maybe camp too. Any suggestions?

Center trails and the water works. Park at center trail lot and there is a bike path that will take you towards the water works. About 13 miles total I think. Some single track off the bike path too

Check out Banner Lakes. It is south of the DSM metro but north of Indianola. There is camping nearby as well. Banner Lakes is on a quarry and offers rocky terrain not seen in most parts of Iowa.

Well there's banner lakes. Or lake ahquabi. But I didn't think they were worth the detour.
