So I did a portion of the 'Ride Across America with Phil Keoghan' on Wednesday; in which I had posted some info on here on Tuesday. I was hoping to see some Forc'ers there that I might recognize, but to no avail were any of you there? I did meet John Harrington and Dean Mathias from QC Bike club; I think they mainly ride road bikes. Dean did say however he rides singletrack once in awhile, friendly guy, so hopefully I will see him out on the trails sometime. If anyone knows him, tell him to come out for a ride at Sylvan or Sunderbruch.

Phil Keoghans portion of the ride took him from Davenport to Rochelle, IL. The group of riders started out with only about a dozen riders. John & Dean actually did the whole portion of this ride with Phil to Rochelle. Dean did so on a customized bike that had Phil intrigued... it was custom built and was made without a seat!!! He did the whole trip standing up. WOW. The ride started from downtown Davenport by Rhythm City Casino, and I went ahead and did a 'portion' on my mtb, I made it to the border of Moline / E. Moline. That's where the rest of the pack started to pick up speed and I could no longer hang, it was fun though!

I turned around and headed back on the bike path near the old IH plant only to realize the wind had been at our backs, and now I had to ride back to Davenport against the wind, that made for a slow ride. When I passed Sylvan, I rode in and did about 1/2 a lap and that's all I could muster... I am out of shape! So anyway, check out this link for 'day 26' of Phils ride and you will see a bit of the ride through the QC...
