Default Who "OWNS" The Trail? (Pinkbike.com article)

    Who Owns a Trail?

Interesting article, dealing mostly with the illegal trail issue that's much more prevalent on the west coast/north shore than it is here but still, there are some good principles to pick up throughout the article.

"4. This means someone else will be making the rules. And **spoiler alert** you’re probably not going to agree with everything that guy says or does. Even if you have the best, nicest trail builder in the world, some of the decisions he makes will probably drive you crazy."

Best comment ever. I've been on the Sunder "crew" under JB and JG, AG, Steve H, Rage and Meilke- I think in that order... and we have yelled and spit and been pissed and decided that guys a waste of oxygen 1,000 times.

and then we drink beer and make sweet trails.

Around here, the steward communicates directly with the peeps who own the land we're riding on, and could give us the boot at any time. The steward knows what the landowners expect, so help the knobbies out cause they'd rather be riding than spending a week updating the next 2 year plan to submit.

In fact, next time you see em, give em a beer and tell em thanks.

Believe in yourself? Well sure, of course. But be aware that "believing in myself" has been the root cause of most of my injuries.
