Default Save The Date: Feb 2 - FORCn Winter Party

    Quick facts...
What? Chili cook off, Winter Party, Membership Drive
    When? Feb 2nd 4:30P
Where? Front Street Brewery @ The Freight House
Why? Renew your membership, partake in cheap thrills, eat and judge chili, recount memories of 2012, compete for trophies and prizes, and more (which means I can't think of anything else but we will come up with something)!

We need to have an idea of who will be submitting a chili (can we ban Russhole from entering this year?) so please post up here so we can count on your submission. Further details to follow.

Awesome. Last year was a blast!

So...the real chili cook off question is, who's getting 2nd?

Great, know a few non members interested!
I was at LBS last week, talking about this membership drive after Monthly meeting. He asked for some flyers to hang or post. Didn't see anything on the calendar or anywhere. Got anything "FORC looking" that can be printed out?

So I'm sitting here at night drinking a tasty brew and brainstorming ideas to make this year's Membership Bash even better than the last. In addition to trophies for chili goodness, several give aways and maybe, just maybe a wee bit of free beer, I've been kicking around the idea of having a Razzie/Stewie-type awards ceremony. If we're going to do this, I could use your help. I'm looking for 3 - 5 categories tops. I need ideas of categories and corresponding nominations to find out if I have anything worth pursuing here. Feel free to post up your suggestions and nominations here or PM me if you want to keep it super secret. Here are some of the ideas I've had so far...

    Best Trip of the Year
    Best Crash of the Year
    Best Newbie of the Year
    Fester of the Year
    Best Post of the Year

Again, I'd love to get some more suggestions for better categories but if you like one of the above categories and have a good nomination for one, please post up or PM me. Presentation is key...For example, crash of the year will be all about the quality of the story/description of the episode. Vid of the year...Might have to send me the vid - the shorter the better.

I'm pretty sure this party is going to be worth every bit the price of admission. Can't wait to see you all there!

    Volunteer of the Year
    Trail Builder of the Year

we could take the cumulative total of one's voluntary contributions for trail work using the maintenance logs.

it's a members-only party, which means if you aren't a member it would be the perfect opportunity to sign up!

plenty of shenanigans to be had, I'm certain of it.

I would say its preferred to not have young kids there. I'm not sure what Front Streets policy is on ages allowed but keep in mind this is more of a bar setting than a restaurant. The use of foul language is fairly likely. I'd say its kinda PG-13. However, that's like my opinion, Man. Someone else can sure chime in.

Experiencing the world through second hand information isn’t enough. If we want authenticity we have to initiate it. We will never know our full potential unless we push ourselves to find it.

I will have my kids down there. This is usually family friendly until it gets later.

We are less than a week away. The buzz around this event is at an unprecedented fever pitch. Celebreties and fans alike will be lining the red carpet. Joan Rivers will be there to assess Sixers' choice in flannels. Red Bull pulled their Super Bowl add so they could debut the spot for our audience. Indeed this will be a spectacle for the ages!

It's helpful to know how to set up if we have a rough idea how many entrants to expect. Last year we had a lot more than we anticipated. Please take a sec and post up if you are bringing chili. We would like all entrants to be there and plugged in before 4:20. That's before the paparazzi arrive.
