    Default New Years Day Ride

It has become kinda of a tradition here at FORC. We meet at Sylvan for a short ride (depending on how cold it is, and this year it will be cold!) then head to Bent to warm up grab some food, beer and talk about the past year and where we will ride in the new year.

So lets meet at the island @ 12:00 pm. Dress warm, forecast says 13 degrees at best, and lets do a quick spin.
You'd understand if you know what I was talking about.

Glad you posted this!! I was going to but just hadn't got to it. Randy asked me to take Tammy riding, so we are meeting there at 11 before everyone else to work with her some before the group gets there. I hope my fingers won't be frozen by Noon! Ha!
    I wanna ride!

Workin with a newbie in icy, 13 degree weather? Is Randy trying to get her to like riding or make damn sure she never asks to do it again?!?

You all have fun. I told Dust'n over a week ago that if I rode NYE, it'll be up at his place. I wasn't aware of the Sylvan tradition. Last year I was recovering from surgery before that I was way too big of a whimp to ride in the cold.

Plan is to be there. Depends on where I wake up, for sure, though.

Dang. Missed it. Partied a bit too hard with some fine young women. ;-) I'll try again next year.

    How was everyones day?
Experiencing the world through second hand information isn’t enough. If we want authenticity we have to initiate it. We will never know our full potential unless we push ourselves to find it.

Had a good day also. Cold but still good. Had at least 12 or more, spent 1 1/2 hours riding/playing around stopping to BS and pull down some jet fuel. Bent didn't open until 5 so we headed to Front Street for some grub.

I did find out a 34/18 was a rough gear for snow riding on a single speed.

Thanks to every one for coming out and ringing in the new year the best way I know how. Bike, beers and buds.

Yup. I've been on a 42/21. It's rough in the snow.

My single speed was just right. All 18 of them...

Believe in yourself? Well sure, of course. But be aware that "believing in myself" has been the root cause of most of my injuries.
