A case of bicyclist harassment by a motorist has come up and the bicyclist is looking for support from other QC bicyclists willing to attend the court hearing on August 13. The location is the Rock Island County Court House and the case is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. in room 101.

The case, #2012CM958, is against Joseph Koprucki, a motorist who allegedly acted upon road rage toward a group of bicyclists legally bicycling on the Centennial Bridge on June 13.

According to accounts from victim Jonas Winn, and video documentation, Mr.Koprucki used his car as a weapon to intimidate the cyclists, including pinning Mr. Winn against a guardrail which luckily did not result in injuries or worse, but it did result in damages to Mr. Winn's bicycle.

According to Mr. Winn, Rock Island Det. Metzger stated that there was not much he could charge Mr. Koprucki with. However, Asst. State's Attorney McCooley did charge two Class A misdemeanors, Reckless Conduct and Criminal Damage to Property.
