Default Trade 110 mm Thomson Stem for 90 mm?

    Guys,
I'm leaning WAY to far forward these days and it's starting to hurt my lower back. I was gonna go out and buy a 90 mm 4X, but I thought I would see what folks had to trade first. I'd like to start closer to 90 mm, but if you've got a 70 or like, let me know!

    Gracias compadres!

    CJ

I have a 110mm 40 degree 31.8 clamp Dimension stem. The effective reach is about 60mm

You can have it for 5 bucks

I guess i'm not sure what mine has for an angle. I know it's a 31.8 clamp though and is 110 mm. Any tips? Just don't want to waste your time...

As I researched... do you know the model number? I just found this: (SM5317)Dimension stems are not intended for use with carbon handlebars or carbon steerer tubes Item. I have all carbon fiber stem and handlebars!

Not sure of the model number, but I wouldn't use it with carbon.

OK - This is embarrassing, but I just measured that stem, and it's 130 mm!!! Anyone have a carbon safe 110 or 100 mm stem they are willing to sell/trade?

Sigh. I have a Truvativ Stylo 110mm 31.8 stem for sale. I don't know if it's carbon safe or not, I didn't see anything on the SRAM website that implied that it could not be used with carbon. But anyway it's yours for 10 bucks.

FWIW...my tallboy has a carbon bar and AL stem. They can be used together in most cases, but you have to watch the torque on the clamp bolts. There is also some gel stuff that you smear on the carbon where it interfaces with the aluminum to increase the friction. Check with your LBS, I'm sure they know what you need.
