I mentioned at the April meeting that we were going to start weekday trail work at Illiniwek this week, but I think it would be better to hold off until the week after the Stampede.

So, Wednesday April 18th at 5:30 we will be meeting in the lower parking lot to kick off this years trail work season. We will be out for around two hours.

What are we doing?
The goal is to reroute a few segments of trail on the north side to improve the sustainability and flow of the system. We will split into two crews: One handling new trail construction and the other will rehabilitate the existing trail.

What tools we will be using?
Wheelbarrow (hauling soil)

Garden Tiller
If anyone has a larger garden type tiller that they can bring out and get up the north side hill it would make breaking up the old trail much easier than doing it by hand with rouge hoes. I don't think the smaller tillers the club has will have enough weight to do the job with the highly compacted soil. If you have one and can bring it out, let me know.

Rogue Hoes (We have 3 for people to use)
Flat Shovels (We have 4 for people to use)

We should have enough tools to go around so you don't need to bring your own unless you really want to.

As always bring water and wear appropriate clothing (long sleeves, pants, gloves) and sturdy footwear.
