WHAT: Sign up for the American Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid class! Participants will learn to prevent injuries in wilderness areas, respond to emergencies in delayed help situations, proper preparation for journeys into the back country, short distance transfer techniques, and how to respond to emotionally upset victims. Wilderness First Aid enables class participants to learn through scenarios and simulated rescues.
The course includes training on:
· Head (Brain), Neck and Spinal Injuries
· Heat-Related Emergencies
· Hypothermia
· Altitude-Related Illnesses
· Allergies and Anaphylaxis
· Burns
· Bone and Joint Injuries
· Wounds and Wound Infection
This class is a must for anyone that enjoys camping, hiking, or being in the great outdoors!
WHEN: Sunday April 15th AND April 22nd
8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. each day
(Must attend both days)
WHERE: Singing Bird Lodge in Black Hawk State Park
HOW: The cost for this class is $110 for two days of training and textbooks. Participants are encouraged to bring a sack lunch. Course participants must be at least 14 years of age and possess current certification in adult CPR/AED. Register today by calling 1-800-REDCROSS or visiting www.redcross.org
