    Exclamation Amazing Deal!!!

who out there likes getting a new bike?

    *raise your hand, everyone*

been thinkin about tryin out one of those wagon wheeled 29ur bikes?

don't think full suspension is all that necessary?

    then stop thinking and do.

2011 Niner Air9 Scandium frame for only $519.

that, my friends, is an amazing friggin deal.

...now, on to convincing my wife I want...err, need another 29er hardtail.

disclaimer: I have absolutely zero affiliation with Jensonusa.com or Niner bikes. I just like passing the word on a good deal when I see it. And, I love hearing about you all when you get a new bike!

mmmmmmm...I really miss my scandium hard tail. Loved the way it road and felt. Wait a second! I still have it! But it was a 26'er and this new is new and shinny. I can total justify this purchase......

    Thinking....

Just ordered a pair of Stan's NoTubes ZTR Crest 26" Stock Wheelset so I don't think I can justify this too... but 1420 grams of solid goodness, mmmm.... now what tires to get for these babies....

Yikes, those rims are only recommended for riders below 190lbs. O_o

I don't know, I'm a fan of Small Block Eights when it comes to Kenda's myself, but those would have amazingly low rolling resistance. I decided to change it up and go with the Continental X-Kings. Suppose to have great rolling resistance and work well for the rocky CO terrain. Plus, I got a pretty good deal on them through my race sponsor which is a local bike shop, Pedal Pushers. May go with a Speed King in back if I feel there's too much rolling resistance. Yeah, 190 recommended weight... lets just say dry trails isn't the only thing I'm hungry for these days.

Gunch...you oughta give the Maxxis Ikon a go. I've run both the SB8 and the Ikon. The Ikon is just as light, rolls just as well, sets up MUCH EASIER tubeless, and inspires more confidence over the SB8. The Ikon is a higher volume tire too so you can run it at lower pressure to increase traction without sacrificing rolling resistance - when setup tubeless of course. I'm running them on my MCR at around 21-23lbs psi give or take, depending on trail conditions, and have yet to bottom out on the rim.

In my opnion, if you're on anything other than dry hardpack, the SB8 is garbage.

Problem is, the Ikon is pretty spendy unless you can find it on sale or on fleabay.

I was really considering those too. I really like the tread design on them. Do you have the EXO model? How's the sidewall thickness on them? I ran the standard SB8 and the sidewall was always way too thin to get them as low in psi as I wanted.

I've got the EXO version. Sidewalls are good. Running low 20's and haven't rolled the tire over once. Definitely stronger than the SB8 sidewall.

grab a set, you won't be disappointed.
