Dirty Duathlon in Des Moines - Sunday, Oct 23rd
This is my next challenge -- the Dirty Duathlon. Anyone wanna do it? I will be heading over and staying with a friend in Des Moines on Saturday. Not sure yet if I will come home on Sunday night or sometime on Monday. They have a beginners race and the regular race (along with an added 8K foot race).

Our fifth Annual Des Moines Dirty Duathlon (hosted with Capital Striders) is set for Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010 in Des Moines’ Greenwood Park.
This year we are adding a stand-alone 8k trail run to the schedule of events as follows:
Courses will be similar to past years; navigating through the Center Trails — a 10-mile system of narrow, natural trails in the heart of the metro. The rolling terrain makes this event perfect for beginners and experts alike. Watch for a map here soon.
- Registration opens at 8 a.m.
- Trail run at 9 a.m. (8k/5 miles)
- Beginner duathlon at 11 a.m. (~2 mile run and 3 mile ride)
- (Free) Kids duathlon at 12:30 p.m. (run and ride and around the pond)
- Open/relay duathlon at 1 p.m. (~4 miles of running and 9 miles of cycling)
