    Default Trail Ambassador Qualification

The National Mountain Bike Patrol (NMBP) offers a Trail Ambassador program that offers a low barrier to entry and gives mountain bikers the opportunity to become more actively involved with mountain biking and trail stewardship.

Trail Ambassadors are knowledgeable volunteers who assist trail users to ensure they have a safe and enjoyable experience while recreating outside. With a little training, anyone with mountain bike experience can become a Trail Ambassador. Mountain bikers who are looking for a way to volunteer while they are out on the trail doing what they love - riding - are invited to join this innovative program.

The Ambassadors work directly in cooperation with a local NMBP group, such as the QCFORC MTB PATROL, when they are out on the trails, riding and assisting trail users. They are an on-trail presence that enhances all trail users' experiences. Unlike members of the National Mountain Bike Patrol, IMBA Trail Ambassadors are not required to hold formal medical training, such as CPR or First Aid. Ambassadors are not expected to provide any medical assistance while volunteering.

Ready to get started? It's easy to get involved. The first step is to get in contact with your local NMBP group. John Bernard, Ray Nees and Scot Schaar are our contact people for the QCFORC MTB PATROL chapter. By working directly with the local bike patrol, Ambassadors have access to the same training resources, and the NMBP group works as a unified presence on the trail.

The Trail Ambassador program is a great opportunity for clubs, patrols and volunteers alike. It offers another way for mountain bikers to play an active role in the stewardship of their land, and it will help involve a broader spectrum of the riding community in club and patrol activities. Come on out and join - it's never been easier!

For more information, please check out the NMBP membership page.

FORCers!!!! Interested? This is another good way to promote mountain biking all the while learning some things along the way and being a resource to trail users. Three requirements to become an Ambassador:

    1. Work directly with the local NMBP (QCFORC MTB PATROL).
    2. Pass a basic orientation training with either local NMBP group or land manager.
    3. Pass the NMBP online certification exam.

    Anyone interested?????
