Default Copper Harbor / Gnome Fest Trip September 3rd through the 12th

Just so everyone can start thinking about it, this is the tentative plan as of right now.
Leave Friday morning Sept. 3rd head up to Copper Harbor MI. Probably stop a couple times for food and brew. Make it up there in time to set up camp at the Organization Campground at near by Fort Wilkins State Park. Spend the rest of the weekend riding awesome trails with awesome people. Sunday there is a race at the event, which I plan on doing. Some time Tuesday, start our journey south towards Chequamegon. Dave Brown has room reservations at the Lenroot Lodge in Seeley for Tuesday through Thursday night. I thought this would be a good cheap place to stay half way through the trip. While in that area we ride trails in the famed Chequamegon Forest, good stuff. Friday we make our way to Gnome Fest, probably try a stop at The Leinenkugel brewery. Why? Because I want to!
These plans are always tentative and subject to change. Right now Jonny and I are already register for both events so you know we are going. Bexter has claimed a spot in the van. I got room for 3 more and I plan on taking the trailer. If I fill the van and someone wants to take a car to save on gas they can pitch in and I will haul their crap.

If this is too much for some one you can always plug into this trip somewhere along our way. I have heard a lot of people wanting to do Gnome Fest, cool. I think this event will need a lot of FORC’ers. Just give me a ring and I will let you know where we are at.

I can guess on a price, Lenroot will cost about $75 per person for the 3 night, gas will be around $60 per person in the van. Then I will not figure food and drink cause that will be different for every one. Camping and trail passes could reach $100. That should give you an idea. I plan on taking a lot of food and drink with me in a cooler but will need to restock at some point.

    So who’s in?

Copper Harbor, new IMBA epic, Michigan Tech Trails, just looks plan cool!http://www.techtube.mtu.edu/watch.php?v=414 Chequamegon, over 300 miles of mapped trails! One cluster right outside the place we are staying. Levis/ Trow mounds, sweet. Throw in 2 Fest along the way. As Dirt Boy would say "To the bikes!"

    Shut up, Nenninger... sheesh...

Believe in yourself? Well sure, of course. But be aware that "believing in myself" has been the root cause of most of my injuries.
