Course Marshals are a vital component to successful and safe races. In April, YOU can have an opportunity to be a part of history! The Sylvan Island Stampede has come to be known as our area (and the series) mtn biking season kick-off thanks to the resilient terrain amidst Spring conditions. And, we are stoked about this year's STAMPEDE! However, in order for this race to be as awesome as ever, we need help! Of course we will need help with other stuff like trail work, registration, parking, etc. but this thread is about COURSE MARSHALS. Imagine this, not only will you be contributing to the safety of the race, but you will also be in prime locations on the race course historically known to challenge our racers. Great spectator opportunity!

The details:
The race date is Sunday, April 11, 2010. Location is Sylvan Island in Moline, IL. I have a need for 10-12 course marshals for EACH race (Novice, Sport and Expert) -- so 30-36 slots throughout the day. Not sure yet about the race start times, but generally they are around 10, 11:30 or Noon, and 2. Course Marshals will need to arrive 30 minutes before their race to sign the volunteer waiver, get a radio and vest, and get to their area on the course.

Join the highly-regarded Sylvan Island Race Crew! Please post up if you are willing and able to course marshall and if so, preferred time slot or slots. We appreciate your help and we want the Stampede to continue to wow and amaze our visitors! Sign up now!
