Default Clinometers and Trail Surveying Equipment

Does the club have a clinometer, or other gradient measuring tool, for trail building/surveying? We are going to start laying out some new trail soon and such a tool would be much more reliable than my homemade version.

To my knowledge, all we have used is a "homemade" version from IMBA plans. I thought it worked well.

I think I actually have a clinometer. I'll look today when I'm at my mom's.

this is actually one I used while in the Forest Service. Pretty tough IIRC. I have to do some more digging for it, but almost positive i still have it. Now if I can remember if it reads percent or degrees... makes a huge difference

Either unit would be usable. I have a conversion table as I have been using degrees with the protractor version. The biggest problem I was having was the lack of fineness of measurement.
