I hate to say it, but Sylvan should be listed closed. We were able to ride a bit, but as is warmed up it got soggy. We ended up on the bike path instead.

Take good care of yourself, JB, and don't try to come back too early. I broke my wrist in college, came back too soon and now - 10 years later - damn thing still hurts. I haven't been to an Illiniwek Trail Day, yet, but if you keep planning 'em, I'll do my best to make it over for ya. I'm sure others will see the opportunity in this as well. Let us know if we can help. Sorry about the injury, man.

Gotta plug my girlfriends services. JB if you need a physical therapist check out Rock Valley, lots of locations in the QC. At her office in Davenport they have a PT that only works on hands!! Talk about a specialized job. I broke mine about ten years ago and it can still get achy, take rehab serious. Anyhow when its time for rehab you can call em at

I can recommend Rock Valley PT also. Broke my right arm near wrist on bike path 10/2008, mud slide. A steel plate was used to hold it together. Once the surgeon said to start PT, A gal at Rock Valley had my right hand back to 95% strength in three weeks. I've been very pleased with the results.

John Bernard always had good things to say about Rock Valley and he's in that line of work, so I'd venture to say he has room to speak to their merits. JB, get well!

Thanks for all the support and good wishes! The fracture is only a hair line but is still going to take 6-8 weeks to heal. Not sure on any PTat this time but will take all I can get when it gets to that point.
