Unlikely as it may seem, Jen was reunited with her Dos Niner last night. A friend saw a kid with it on the pedestrian mall in downtown Iowa City during the Friday night concert and gave Jen a call. After going down to confirm it was indeed her bike, she called the cops who came and arrested the 17 year old miscreant who had it. He had a lame story about finding a beat up bike and fixing it all up, but he fought a losing battle and was taken in. No clue if he actually stole it, and I doubt they can prove it even if he did unless he would serve that info up himself. Unlikely.

Regardless of what happens to him, the high point was the Salsa return with no damage. We celebrate this afternoon with a ride at Sugar Bottom. A nice final twist for the story: he had his own cable lock on the bike - he's very aware that you can't trust people these days!

Thanks to everyone who was checking around for us. Getting the word out is the only way we were able to recover the bike.

    Rg.

ps. One piece of advice (that we've all heard and ignored) - make sure to record your serial numbers!

    Default Sweeet!

What did I tell you the other night...I knew it would show up again.

How dumb to ride around in the same area it was stolen. Duh

I hope that kid learns a valuable lesson from this...don't be stupid!

I'm so glad it's back in your possession where it belongs! Congrats

Petty theives aren't typically known for being smart. That's probably why you knew it would turn up.

Good deal Rage! Maybe you should buy a lottery ticket too.
