    Default My Moab experience

My new bride and I were on our honeymoon in Moab last weekend and met some very nice people. We were about to go biking on the trails at Dead Horse Park, and to my dismay I couldn't find the nut for the skewer on my front tire (never found it). Several people in the parking lot tried to locate one for me but had no luck. Then a guy named Rick from Hawaii rolled off the trail and he stopped to try and help. He had a thru axle wheel so he let me borrow his front wheel since he was done riding. To thank him we dropped off a 6 pack to his hotel room.

The next day I went to Poison Spider Bike shop to get a new part, and the guy working pulled one out of the drawer. I asked him how much, he said nothing! So if you guys ever get out that way and need a shop, I recommend these guys! Got to ride the Slickrock practice loop the next day and loved it. Hopefully I get a chance to go back and ride the whole loop someday!

Thats an awesome story but I'm pretty sure most bike shops would give that part away for free! Most people that get replacement wheels leave their old trashed out wheels behind at shops, along with perfectly good skewers, thus most shops have an abundance of old left behind skewers and skewer parts.

I have a pint glass and a shirt from there. Honeymoon in Moab. That's what I'm talking about, too! More appropriate for me would be a divorce trip to Moab... hey, there's an idea.... Actually think my next trip is going to be Pisgah.
    I wanna ride!

Mielk, yea, my next big trip will be Pisgah. Don't think for one minute that it would happen without me throwing it out to my knobbies for a potential group trip!!

But for now, we have Sco Co Pa! Ahhhhh.... Great camping weather! Bon fire, friends, bikes, beer. What more do we need?

    Love the banana!
