What do you trail builders/maintainers us for weed eating? There's an unofficial 3 mile trail in Eldridge that I ride occasionally, but it hasn't been maintained or rode all summer, so it's got some massive weeds. What's the fastest and easiest way to clean it up?

Loppers,pruners,weedeaters... it's not an easy job. It takes me around 12 hours to weedeat at Stephens and it is only about 2miles... weed whacking at Stephens needs to be done at least twice a summer for nicely groomed single track.

I was thinking of something like this:

Grass Gator 4680 Brush Cutter Extra Heavy Duty Replacement Trimmer Head https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004VRZTKY..._.GjTzbZ67GZR8

Sure that would work. No changing or running out of string...

I've used the plastic insert brush cutters before and found they're more hassle than thy're worth for a trail setting. Hit a rock, the ground, or even a smaller tree and the inserts usually break. Then it's a pain to replace them on the trail. A string head or solid metal brush blade is the way to go. The string head will be faster if most of the plants aren't woody since the cutting diameter is larger.
