Brace yourselves....

We spent the morning at Sunderbruch Park today and we're proud to announce the Trails are OPEN.

The tread is soft, but your tires will not do irreparable damage. It is that magic time of the year when the tread has thawed and the dirty is incredibly tacky. There are numerous ruts and pockmarks from hikers and bikes using the trail when it wasn't ready. Your tires will actually aid in smoothing the trail out at this point.

There is no standing water and no incredibly messy or damaged areas. Just a few short sections that are still pretty soft but these sections aren't severe enough to warrant keeping the entire system closed. Instead, we've made the decision to open the trails and allow everyone to enjoy the nice weather this weekend at the Park.

Use caution on Blue Mound and Kickapoo Down -- a few of the damaged areas held a bit of ground thaw so there are sections you'll come across that are softer than others. Do not ride around these spots -- take your normal line and ride on through.

Enjoy.
