    Default FFFFest call for Volunteers!

Getting close! As always we need an army of folks to make this FORC event a success. It is highly doubtful the Lodge will be ready (official word Fri 30th). We need tons of help with Plan B, both volunteer time and equipment/materials.

Please post up, it makes planning smoother. And its MUCH appreciated!

    VOLUNTEERS
    • Thurs 5th at 3pm -- Need 1 or 2 folks for grunt work for the pros for an hour or two. Turtle Construction donating equipment & crew to wrap picnic shelter for registration.
    • Fri 6th -- Full day setup on Credit Island. Venue, signs, course, parking, etc. I’ll be there by 8am, staying all day (vacation day). Post-up - could use a lot of help.
    • Sat 7th -- Big Day
      • 8am Final setup - firepits, wood, traffic cones, kiddie pool, etc. Help needed.
      • 1030am Need NON-RACING folks as road crossing guards & lap counters. We’ll have fire pits at each road X-ing! Please chip in to rotate shifts.
      • 5pm Lock up some equipment & gear in FORC trailer. FFFFest on & get pickled.
    • Sun Feb 8 --Teardown/cleanup @ Credit Island 10AM. Need a lot of help, plus some trucks to pull trailers. Perfect fit for weekend--hangover curing greazy breakfast 830AM at Lo-Vee on Rockingham.

    EQUIPMENT & MATERIALS
    • Firewood -- need a truck load of seasoned firewood that fits in firepits; free=optimal, cheap=good.
    • Kiddie pool -- for beer potluck, Tara has one, need a spare/backup
    • Fire pits -- we have 4 (Vonda, Tara, Cayson-2). Need a few more for road guards.
    • Generator -- using AGs & Struck’s; need a standby just in case
    • Heaters -- 2 or 3 propane patio heaters w/tank for fumeless registration tent. Propane jet is awesome, or kerosene. Generator/electricity concern.
    • 4 or 5 Heavy duty 50’ extension cords; power strip
    • Recycle bins for Glass - Plastic - Paper (have 3, could use 3 or 6 more)
    • And whatever else that springs up as needed on short notice

THANKS EVERYONE for getting FORCs first Fat Bike Festival off the ground!

I have a fire ring and some fire wood I can bring. I also have extension cords. I know the club has power strips, they should be in the registration bins.

If at all possible, anyone else that might be bringing firewood - please bring split wood. Whole logs don't burn worth a crap. I can bring a splitting maul if needed.

Lodge officially not done. FEAR NOT, FORC'ers are resilient animals! Fondo, food sales, contests, raffle, potluck and night stompin' all still a GO! Plan B is in great shape w/heated registration tent & lotsa wood pits burning around the FFFFest grounds. Wind break spectator area.
Still need lots of help to make this FORC event a success & need non-racers to be road guards.

Bexter - post up if you can get her generator? Want too many on hand rather than not enough.
Neips - good point on split wood. Also fire pits must be off-the-ground type for city park use.
Browns - excellent, you'll have a front row seat to some great technical feats. And a marble outhouse.

A crunchy morning pleasant winter day -- Get outside, Forecast looking great!

MANY thanks to Kings, AG, Neips, Sixers, Drew & folk for getting out there today and making sure the Fondo course is rideable.

Friday -- HUGE setup day, six to eight folks have committed. Please help setup anytime, starting 8AM. We need tires on the course route on Friday. Bring your bike and plenty of survival medicine. Fun prohibited, sobriety mandatory, curfew enforced -- Pfffttttt.

Saturday -- volunteers bring plenty of warm clothes, warm snow boots, lawn chairs. Medicine. Please check in at the Registration tent to help out! The Tennis court portion is cleared for spectators, we need lots of firewood!

    Sunday --10AM for teardown & cleanup. Cure-all breakfast beforehand 830AM @ Lo-Vee on Rockingham.
    THANKS ALL!

Well my firewood is a little snow covered...thought it could dry out some if the sun came out today. Anyone know of a good place to buy some for tomorrow?
