Have been trying to figure out this whole spinning over power when pedaling thing. Worked on old set up, tried to make it work on 1x. Found that was a bad idea sbp was harsh got a slower time than last year by alot. Got to ifp and decided to slow my spinning and put more power down instead. So much better. Made the south long route climb with little issue. I actually was faster there than sbp by .5mph.

Summary, yet to find a need for the 40 or 42 conversion. Sbp I had too spots I had to walk cause legs were wore out from spinning. But hell at ifp I only touched the 36t a couple times going up (couple of the corners). Hard pressed to see a need for such things on our trails but too I dont ride the black sections.

This doesn't make any sort of sense.

It was a very short abbreviation my friend. What I actually meant was, 1x10 with 34 teeth!! Does that make a little more sense to you

Dang...I was hoping you had the inside scoop on SRAM's new 34 cog cassette...an 8-75 with a 40t chain ring would finally give those MTBR honkies the range they have been looking for!

Westbrook green loops are gtg. Been riding them with my son the last few weekends. I wanted to ride it at my speed this time . As for scocopa...i ride there CONSTANTLY, was my favorite place to ride. Well still is but illiniwek is moving up next to it on that list. Goal was to test 1x gearing for my big butt (oh and ghetto tubeless now too).

Oh and sorry only couple little jumps at sunder. The really little ones. Have no desire to do anything bigger the little ones are plenty fun for me.

Could you pedal 40-75 and stay upright?
