The last time I rode WLPP, I thought it was fun. Some parts reminded me of Sunderbruch and there were areas of prairie that were pretty to ride through. I have been watching their Facebook page and looks like they are starting to highlight some of the rocky areas which to me is super cool. We are heading down there tomorrow as an alternative to our non-Brown-County weekend, and we are going to get the grand tour from one of the locals. Stay tuned for a trail report... (and we also plan to enjoy the Bash weekend down there, weather permitting).

All I can say is WOW was that FUN! Those trails have completely transformed since I rode there in 2010. The North loop was planned well and is flowy and fun. There is a new area they call the "Black Hole" that will challenge riders. Don't miss Keebler Tree and it's elf. Much of the South loop is built on the remnants of a strip mine and offered rocky fun and bypasses are in place for newer riders to stay injury-free. Oh! Can't forget the pump track! Ride to your heart's desire! Wildlife Prairie Park was definitely worth the 1.25 hour drive (it's just a tad North of Peoria -- about 15 minutes closer than Farmdale).

WPP might be my favorite Peoria area trail, but I haven't ridden all of Farmdale, or any of Dirksen/Indy. The rocky areas are a nice challenge. I'm looking forward to racing, but I can't make the Bash because I've signed up for the Bacon & Beer Sunderbruch 10k the day of...

I'm not racing, so my plan is to ride WPP on Saturday, watch some of the races on Sunday, ride Farmdale, and finally, hit the Burger Barge before heading home. We will be cutting it close on time to make the 10:30 group tour on Saturday as we're stopping at the Galesburg homebrew store on the way down to pick up supplies (and they don't open until 10 AM -- and not open on Sundays). Worst case is that we meet up with you at the intersection of the North and South loops.
