    Default Trail Open/Close Status

after our ride yesterday, one of the Park Rangers stopped by and we chatted for a bit.

he made it very clear that the bike trails and the horse trails are managed as a single entity...meaning, if the horse trails are not in condition to ride then the bike trails will remain closed. from their standpoint, it's the only way they can manage it.

with the freeze/thaw process taking place right now, responsible trail usage is vital to long-term sustainability of our trails. once the trails are completely frozen, the Ranger said they'd open the trails and keep them that way until things start to thaw in the spring.

thought I'd let everyone know, you know, for the future.....

He also said it was OK to top tube surf your bike along with the occasional no-footers as long as you are experienced enough and the terrain permits this kind of activity.

Also as a reminder the trails will be closed this weekend (1-2)for the controled deer hunt.
You'd understand if you know what I was talking about.
