    Default Snow Ride! 2/23/12 @ 6 - GRB

... WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN QUAD CITIES HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WATCH... WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING.

    * TIMING... MUCH OF THURSDAY INTO THURSDAY EVENING.

    * SNOWFALL... WET SNOW OF 4 TO 8 INCHES WITH HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE.

This may be the first and last chance this year to play in any real snow! The plan is to meet at Great River Brewery at 6ish, ride till we don't wanna anymore, and head back to GRB to warm up.

If the weathermen are wrong and we don't get a decent accumulation, the ride likely won't happen, so check back here before heading out.

As always: Fat bikes encouraged, skinny bikes welcome, good attitudes required.

12psi?! You must weigh 90lbs! Let us know when you can run 5psi then we might consider it fat

Ya know that Ardent isn't a bad size. I'd call it sub-fat...

    come on, snow!!

1 good last ride in some nice wet snow and then lets get the temps to 70 and dry stuff up!!

Believe in yourself? Well sure, of course. But be aware that "believing in myself" has been the root cause of most of my injuries.

Think we got the snow for you. Yesterday it was 57 with super high winds which blew me off my bike and my new prescription glasses off my face tossing them a good 20 years and braking the lens leaving me blind for the last hour of the ride... yay. Then over night it cooled off fast and I woke up to at least 4-6 inches of wet snow. Yep, typical Colorado front range weather for this time of year. Can't wait for March, our snowiest month, and April, our second snowiest month.

ILT and I got out last night for a jaunt that included a stop at Urbanbigfoot's house to raid his kegerator. I took the day off today to play in the snow. It was awesome at about 8am but getting sloppy out there now.

It was damn beautiful! We went back out this afternoon and all our tracks had frozen over. Good riding!

I was dreading winter all throughout summer and fall and now here I am complaining because we aren't getting enough snow and jumping for joy when we do get snow. Mountain biking seems to be a cure for seasonal affect disorder!
