    Default New Year's Day ride?

I just looked at the forecast and it is going to be above freezing through Tuesday, then drop down to 27 (for a high) on Wednesday, 29 for a high on Thursday (New year's Day) with a 30% chance of snow. Let's ride! Thanks to the rain and higher temps, most of the snow is gone. Being in the 20's will freeze the currently mushy surface. Sylvan Island followed by a few pints at Bent River on Thursday? Plan to ride at 11 AM?

11:00am or pm? I'm guessing you really mean 3pm
You'd understand if you know what I was talking about.

Ha ha ha! I thought about the time when I posted and wondered if people would think 11 AM was too early. How about Noon? We can ride a few hours and then hit Bent for a late lunch.

I figured with all the warm temps and massive rain we had last weekend that the trail conditions at Sylvan would be great for riding... snow and ice gone and solid trails after the freeze today. That's not the case as of today. Other than near the entrance to the island, much snow and ice remains, and the riding is really crappy according to the crew who just rode there. I'm going to officially cancel the ride which is not to say you guys can't go, but I'm not going to go. John went out to Sylvan about an hour ago to verify that the conditions remain crummy... they do.

Alternative: Filling Station for wings and beer at 1 PM New Year's Day.

The conditions at Sylvan are less than desirable. I don't know if anyone would be interested but I rode for about an hour today, even though it was on the bike path, it was outside, it was on the bike, it was all good. So, if you might like to do a spin around town on the bike paths tomorrow let me know.

In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria.
