    Sylvan Island Bridge Closed



     

    The city of Moline has deemed the bridge providing access to the Sylvan Island natural area and trail network structurally unsound and unsafe for public use. Effective Monday April 29 a gate will be erected blocking access to the island via the bridge. The trails on the island and the island itself will remain open to the public but will only be accessible by boat.

    FORC is actively working with the city to find a solution for regaining access to the island from the mainland sans boat. If you would like to help FORC in this endeavor, contact us.

    Spring Trail Conditions

    Spring is here and everyone is ready to ride. Before you do, make sure to check if the trails are up to it (← trail conditions to the left). The ground is still very wet from the winter thaw and riding on trails that are too soft can cause extensive damage and keep the trails closed longer throughout the season. If you are leaving ruts in the trail, stop riding, walk your bike back to a paved surface and go exploring on the numerous bike paths and country roads surrounding the trails.

    It's a wrap! The rain stayed away and another memorable Stampede is in the bag. Don't forget, FORC is hosting the Sunderbruch Thrill Ride race on July 14th in Davenport, IA (more details coming soon).
