• Spring Trail Conditions

The weather is slowly getting warmer but the trails are still closed. Help us keep them in good condition for spring by staying off until they have firmed up. It will still be a few weeks... Sylvan Island trails are usually good by early/mid March.

Dirt trails are extremely sensitive to rut damage during the spring thaw. The soil is still saturated from snow melt and the receding frost which turns dirt trails into the consistency of pudding. Riding or even walking on trails in this state can cause severe erosion issues and will keep them closed longer (trails dry slower when rutted because they hold pools of water).

Be patient and let the trails do their thing over the next few weeks. Ride local paved bike trails and roads in the meantime to take advantage of the improving weather. Our trail volunteers thank you in advance!
