Does anyone do indoor training with their mtn bikes in the winter? What systems are good ones for mtn bikes and that are fairly in expensive? We have a club we can go to but my as well set something up in the basement to do it during the winter months to keep endurance up. If anyone has experience with this let me know.....Christine:banana:

okay, to answer your question, i used to have a rim drive trainer that would work well with mountain bikes. don't have to change tire or wear out tire. it probably only works with rim brake rims. i think it was minoura rds something or other. it was mag drive and had a remote. i got rid of it because i hardly ever used it.

Jim, you hardly used it?!!!! What's up with that?!!!!!!!!!

Chris, I have an indoor trainer and a few Carmichael videos for indoor training. Some are mtn biking, some are strength training. They pretty much all suck, but what do you do in the winter? Spin spin spin... and drink beer. Jonny tells me we are taking an actual spin class this winter. That may help my motivation if I have a leader bellering at me. Maybe.

Totally get that! Reduction in heating cost with some personal insulation.
