Matthiessen Race Course

We are trying to figure out what we should do for our race at Matthiessen, should we keep the course aprox 3.5miles of tough singletrack or should we add a little over a mile of mostly open prairie singletrack and end up with an aprox 5 mile loop?

Have you participated in any of the races at Sylvan Island? Our courses lengths have ranged from 3-4 miles per lap depending on flood water levels. Personally, I prefer singletrack and would rather do more laps of pure singletrack than ride fewer longer laps that include prairie. But, maybe others feel differently. My 2 cents. Looking forward to checking out your race!
