We are having a trail day this Thursday 25 June at Illiniwek Park (weather permitting). Post up if you can make it.

Objectives (As time allows):
Clearing a few downed trees from the trails
Cutting weeds and removing debris from the trail tread
Fixing some short sections of trail that are prone to holding water or eroding
Start cutting in an up/down trail for the South Loop.

Tools needed:
Chainsaw
Weedeaters
Rakes
Shovels

lliniwek park at the north end of the parking lot on the East side of I-84 at 6:00 PM. In case someone has been living under a rock for the last few months, the Interstate 80 bridge westbound lane is closed.

Notes:
Quite a few of the trails we will be working are flanked by stinging nettles so wearing long pants is advised. Also, bring bug spray because the Mosquitoes are thick right now.

I will post more details if anything changes.

I was planning on helping out today (Thursday the 9th) at Illiniwek... just wondering if trail day is still on due to all the rain on Wednesday? Thanks!

As of now We still plan on doing trail work, if we get any more rain today I'm not so sure. My plan is to check the trails around 2:00pm and let everyone know around 3 or 4 if it's a go or not.

OK, we are on! Bring dirt working tools(flat shovels, rakes, Etc), also long pants, OFF, and some water. See you all at 6:00.

As always Thursday night trail night at Illiniwek tommorrow night 6:00pm! We will be working on the new trail on the south side of the park and will need clearing tools, Chain saws, rakes, lopers, and flat shovels. Part of the work will include setting of the first bridge in the park. :rockon:
