Your selling the Stumpjumper! :( What about all the memories you two had? Like ripping it up at Kettle. And who cannot forget your time together in Moab!? Shame, it's a beautiful bike. I can testify it is a very well kept bike, and an awesome trail bike.

Gunchie, thank you for the kind words but, yes it is time for the Stumpjumper to go. Got a baby on the way and my saddle time is going to get majorly depleted this year...need to make room in the "stable" ;)

Thanks dude. I did some research from buyers/sellers of bikes and components and what I gathered was:

1. Always list first in local forums and larger forums like mtbr *before* listing on ebay. Ebay should be your last resort, unless you are looking to sell quickly.

2. Often times you can come out further ahead by parting out the bike. Most of you probably already knew that.

3. However, if you are selling a mass-market brand like Trek, Giant, Specialized, etc. you may be better off selling the whole bike because the majority of riders buying these bikes don't want to mess around with building them up - they just want a ride-ready rig.

I took this advice and the responses were more than I imagined.

Thank you to everyone that looked, emailed, and called about the bike. Hope to see you all on the trails with the new rig soon!

Not necessarily close circle, not someone I knew, but someone relatively local.
