View Full Version : New to trail riding
I will be in the quad cities on business for a couple months (April - May).
I recently purchased a mountain bike and I am planning on bringing it with me.
After reading up on the trails on the site, I had a couple of questions I was hoping some of you could help me out with!
Are the trails safe for beginners?
Are there usually other people around/help available in case of emergencies?
Are there any tips you would give someone just starting out?
and most importantly
Are there good places to hang out and drink/socialize in the area?
Thanks!

Hi, glad you are interested in riding our trails! Yes, we have plenty of trails suitable for beginners, and if you are feeling a little more daring we have trails for that too. It is hard to ride our trails alone since we have so many addicted... I mean dedicated trail riders. There are also several individuals including myself who are trained in CPR/First Aid that are certified National Mountain Bike Patrol and numerous National Mountain Bike Ambassadors who can call for help. If you still don't feel confident going out on the trails alone then don't. Just post up in our "Let's Ride" section of the forum and someone will gladly meet up with you to show you around the trail system. One great tip is to know the signs; green circles are easy trails, blue squares are intermediate trails, and black diamonds are expert trails. Make sure to remember to bring water and wear a helmet too. Good places to hang out and drink... absolutely! Not only do we have some great brew pubs, the club is full of the friendliest people you'll ever meet. Hopefully that answers your questions!
